REQUESTS BY TELEPHONE, EMAIL, & POSTAL MAIL FOR EXTENSIVE RESEARCH :

Extensive research includes broad requests for “any information about my family.”

Library staff cannot undertake extensive genealogy research requests. Our staff is limited and its time must be devoted to our local patrons.

For assistance, we recommend that you hire a local professional genealogist. Advice on hiring a professional genealogist can be found on these web sites: Association of Professional Genealogists (www.apgen.org), Familysearch (www.familysearch.org), and Cyndislist (www.cyndislist.com).

The Oneida County, New York Genealogy web site http://oneida.nygenweb.net/ is a good starting point for Rome-area genealogy information on the Internet. Old Fulton Postcards http://fultonhistory.com/ provides access to thousands of digitized newspaper articles from Central New York.

The librarians at the Information Desk will be happy to assist you in locating specific information should you plan to visit the library in the future. Please call 315-336-4570 or visit our web site at www.jervislibrary.org for library hours, services, and directions.
