We will meet to discuss the book, The Sati, by Christopher Pike. Teen girls are welcome to bring their moms, aunts, grandmas, or other female mentor in their life, to offer their opinions and thoughts in the library auditorium. New members are always welcome.

Meet author of A Northern Light Jennifer Donnelly.

We leave Rome at 5:00 to stop and have dinner and discuss the book before going to the lecture/reading. Copies of Ms. Donnelly's book will be available for sale through Jervis Library. Scholastic Book Fair will be held to benefit Teen Programs at Jervis Library. We start setting up at 9:00am and will take it down promptly at 7:00pm. See Lisa Matte to volunteer for set up and break down.

Scholastic brings special guest Franklin to the Book Fair this summer, so we will hold a special story time for children at 2:30pm. Depending upon Franklin's stature, you may be able to "become" Franklin. Please see Lisa to volunteer to become the turtle.

We participate in the Honor America Days Parade. Details of our placement to be announced. To participate, you must have a signed permission slip to attend off site programs.

YAC's Fractured Fairy Tale Theater presents Red vs. the Wolf by Judy Wolfman produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood, Colorado. The wolf finally gets a chance to tell his side of the story. Created by teens for children.

Rome Arts Festival: YAC volunteers needed to represent Jervis Library. Sell rickets, person the librar'sy booth, play chess and checkers, and dress in storybook costume.

The BIG YA Fiction move. I'll need people all day, so if you can make a couple hours that would be very helpful. Lunch of pizza will be served courtesy of our fundraising money at 1:00pm. We will be removing YA books from the shelves, moving books, executing mathematical feats, and checking the library's database for accuracy.

Final assessment of designs, selection of images to go to press, and last minute changes for the bookmark and posters we are making thanks to CNYCAC. This program is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York STate Council on the Arts, administered by the Central New York Community Arts Council, Inc.

Jervis Public Library Auditorium
Teens create holiday ornaments to sell in exchange for donations to the Children's Room book collection. Teens will choose the books and have their names in them as having helped to raise the money for their purchase. The craft session lasts until 5:00PM.

 

Friday, December 3 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM

Youth Advisory Committee Gift Wrapping Fundraiser
Barnes and Noble; New Hartford
Teens wrap purchases for customers of Barnes and Noble from 5-9PM in exchange for donations to Jervis Public Library. Transportation permission forms required if the advisor provides transportation. Registration required.
