Get a Clue @ Jervis Library!

Summer Reading Program and Family Events

GET A CLUE @ THE LIBRARY!!
Get a Clue @ the Library! is a free statewide summer reading (and read-to-me) program, which is presented by the Jervis Public Library for children of all ages (readers and pre-readers are both welcome to join!). We encourage children and teens ~ and adults, too! ~ to read for pleasure and have some fun this summer. Studies have shown us that those children who read over the summer are better prepared to meet the challenge of the new school year in the fall.  Pre-readers are also encouraged to join, to help instill the love of books and reading from the very earliest age.

Last year the kids in the Summer Reading Club read for a record total 146,106 minutes. This summer, let’s set a new record! And, Miss Lorie will make it interesting:
*** If the kids in the Summer Reading Club read (and report) for 200,000 minutes, Miss Lorie will dye her hair hot pink!!  AND the kids in the Summer Reading Club can all “sign” Miss Lorie ~ with Permanent Markers! ***

Registration for the Summer Reading Program and other activities in the Children’s Room will begin on Monday, June 18. We hope when you are making your summer plans that the library will be on your A-list.

*Registration begins Monday, June 18
*Reporting begins Monday, July 2
*Awards Celebration: Friday, August 17 at 11:30am

At the Awards Ceremony and Party, Miss Lorie will announce if the challenge has been met, and if so, the date for her "transformation".
