Purple Power !!
The Jervis Public Library is joining other libraries in New York State for the 2009 Summer Reading Program: Be Creative @ the Library! Children will have the opportunity to enroll in this free reading program that includes books, stories, performances, crafts, prizes and activities for all ages. Jervis Library has offered a very successful Summer Reading Program for many years.
Last summer Miss Lorie set the challenge at 300,000 minutes, and the kids read past that and more. This summer, let’s set a new record! And, Miss Lorie will make it interesting:
If the kids in the Summer Reading Club read (or are read to) for 325,000 minutes, Miss Lorie will dye her hair PURPLE with permanent color in time for the Summer Reading Challenge final celebration!
Registration for the Summer Reading Program and other activities in the Children’s Room will begin on Monday, June 22. We hope when you are making your summer plans that the library will be on your A-list.
*Registration begins Monday, June 22
*Reporting begins Monday, July 6
*Challenge Celebration: Wednesday, August 19 at 2:30pm
